Our Heritage
Pashmina is a centuries-old Himalayan craft, originating in Ladakh and refined in Kashmir. Known for its rare softness and deep cultural significance, it was once prized by Mughal royalty and European elites. True Pashmina is distinct from regular cashmere due to its ultra-fine fibers and authentic handmade process. At PASHLO, we preserve this legacy through ethical artisan partnerships and meaningful, handcrafted artistry.

02 How should I care for my Pashmina?
Pashmina is a delicate, heritage textile and deserves thoughtful care.
- Store in a breathable cotton or muslin bag, never plastic
- Place naphthalene balls or cedar blocks nearby, wrapped separately, to protect from insects
- Avoid direct sunlight to preserve colour
- Do not hang the shawl for long periods, always store folded
- Dry clean only
For long term storage, make sure the shawl is completely clean and moisture free. Air it out every few months in a cool, shaded area.
03 How do I know my Pashlo Pashmina is authentic?
Every Pashlo Pashmina is:
- Made exclusively from 100% pure Ladakhi Changthangi Pashmina fibre (11 to 14 microns)
- Hand spun, hand woven, and hand finished by master artisans in Kashmir
- Accompanied by an Authenticity Certificate and, where applicable, a GI certified tag verifying its Kashmiri origin
We do not use blends, machine spun yarn, or non Himalayan fibres, ever.
04 Are your papier mâché products authentic and handcrafted?
Yes. Each papier mâché piece is crafted in Kashmir using traditional sakhta (base making) and naqashi (hand painting) techniques. The entire process, from moulding to curing, painting, and lacquering, is done by artisans whose skills have been preserved for generations.
